am starting April. If you have scheduled a tee time and are unable to play be sure to cancel your

SLOW PLAY:
Everyone should be concerned about slow play, which is a result of bad habits that waste time.
Please consider the following suggestions:
Keep track of the group ahead of you, not the hole behind.
During league play due to the variation of skill levels, the formula for picking up your ball will be "2 times par + 2".
However, during tournament play all balls must be holed out unless otherwise specified.
Keep idle talk to a minimum; we are on the course to golf not visit.
Think abour your next shot as you drive or walk to your ball.
Take several clubs with you as you walk to your ball; one you intend to use and several alternates.
Drive the cart as a team; drive to the first ball on the par 4's and par 5's. After hitting the first ball, return to the cart and drive to the next
ball, then both players clean and replace clubs.
In stroke play, if safe and not interfering, playing out of turn is permissible.
Study your putt while others are preparing to putt.
The first person to hole out will replace the flag.
Leave the green and immediately drive to the next tee. Then put your clubs away, record scores and select the club you will use next.
SCORE CARDS:
Members are responsible for accurate scoring. Two scorers must keep scores for all players for the purpose ot attesting. Incorrect scores will be rejected for POD and Tournaments. Your name and handicap should appear on your scorecard.
Signed and attested handicap cards, POD cards, tournament cards and special event cards
should be put into their respective boxes in the ladies' lounge at the end of each week's play. Hole-in-one, chip-ins, and
birdies should be recorded and attested in the notebook located at the desk in the Pro Shop.
POSTING SCORES:
All handicap scores are posted on the computer located in the Pro Shop or online at AWGA.org. Enter your
scores by your AWGA number or local club number. The Handicap Chairperson will monitor entry of all tournament scores.
If you do not have an AWGA number, the Handicap Chairperson will provide one so you may establish a USGA handicap. Gross scores
less required adjustments as specified on the ESC (Equitable Stroke Control) table are posted after completion of each round.
Scores recorded for 18 holes of play outside of league play and on other courses should also be posted.
ESC Table
Handicap
Maximum Score Per Hole
During major tournament/s, the maximum handicap is 36 with the exception of the State Medallion.
The State Medallion tournament will play to a 40.4 index. Therefore the maximum handicap for the State Medallion Tournament is 42.
POD –Play of the Day
Prizes for POD will be awarded by flights each week to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th places, if possible. Ties will split the applicable award. Weekly winners are posted in the ladies’ lounge. Winnings are credited to the player’s account in the Pro Shop and may be used for cart fees and/or merchandise. Please be aware that incorrect, incomplete, unsigned or unattested cards will not be accepted for that week’s POD. Please put a maximum of two players’ names on each POD card. Look for the POD summary each week on the League Table in the Pro Shop. Maximum handicap used for POD is 40 unless otherwise stated.
Chip-Ins and Birdies
Your dues include money for chip-ins and birdies. Accumulated monies are split among the members that have chipped into the cup from off the green or had a birdie during league play. Pay-outs of $1.00 per chip-in and birdie are determined in descending order by the total number of chip-ins or birdies recorded, with the player having the most chip-ins and birdies during the year receiving the most money. Monies are paid on Fun Day.
Hole-In-One
Your dues include money for hole-in-one payouts. The money will be awarded at the Fun Day.
Beat the Pro
Players bet on themselves to beat the pro. The amount of the bet is determined by the player with a $5.00 minimum. If the player beats or ties the pro, the money bet is doubled and placed in the player’s account. If the player loses to the pro, the amount bet is placed in the player’s account. No Losers!
Local Rules
USGA Rules of Golf apply. Electronic measuring devices are permissible. Play the ball as it lies. Do not move your ball unless permitted to do so by USGA Rules. Do not move tee markers. All putts must be holed out. All water on the course is lateral. All fences are deemed boundary fences. If the ball comes to rest against a boundary fence and is deemed unplayable, player may drop under penalty of one stroke, two club lengths from the fence, no nearer the hole. If a ball comes to rest against or near the electrical box on the north side of the 18th fairway, player may take one club length relief, but only if the box interferes with your stance or swing. On fairways, if your ball is on bare ground, move ball to the grass area, closest relief no nearer the hole without penalty. On hole #3, if ball is on service road, move to closest relief similar to if on a cart path. The procedure for permanent markers on fairway is nearest relief without penalty. On #17 if your ball goes in the water, go to the drop area.
Special Tournaments
Special Tournaments are run by the Tournament Committee and are multiple-week events. Sometimes a fee is required. If you are unable to find the Tournament Chairperson for payment of that fee you may drop the money off at the Pro Shop desk. They will have a specific moneybag for KMWGA monies, which will be kept in their safe. If you are unable to play the number of weeks required for a tournament, do not sign up. The Tournament Committee will provide a written “Conditions of Competition” for each tournament including rules, scoring, prizes, tee times and play days required. Participants must play in at least two out of three dates of the President’s Cup. For the Club Championship participants must be able to play all three weeks. See Tournament section for specific information.
Rain Cancellations for Tournaments
Tournament day cancellations due to weather will be declared only after a Ken McDonald staff member and the Tournament Chairperson determine the course is unplayable. Weather cancellations will only be considered at the first scheduled tee time. Tournament participants need to be present and ready to play.
